This small oil painting depicts a little North Idaho stream filled with native Westslope Cutthroats. While exploring this stream, I encountered the first Idaho Giant Salamanders I've seen, all in their larval stage. This painting depicts a scene I encountered while hiking in Big Bear California one February. The idea was sparked as the evening light created a beautiful warm glow on the old cedar trees near the lake.
This is a scene near my hometown of Helena MT. As you leave town towards the continental divide, Tenmile Creek winds near the highway, creating beautiful scenes like this one where the cottonwoods grow in the little creek bottom.
This scene depicts one of my favorite subjects, a pair of Western Whitetails hurriedly heading for the security of the foothills as the sun rises on a cold, frosty morning.
